New features and advantages of Bluetooth 3.0+HS

Bluetooth SIG officially announced the next generation of Bluetooth, the official name of which is Bluetooth 3.0 + HS almost 2 years ago but it wasn't implement for commercial use till last year by the device manufacturer's but now almost every digital device manufacturing company have upgraded to Bluetooth 3.0. So, what is the benefit and new features of this newer version? the answer is here.

Through integration of Bluetooth with the 802.11 protocol, the new standard is not only used in hand-held device that can be used in transmission between the number of small files, but is also used in DV - HDTV, PC - Portable Multimedia Player, UPMC - a combination of different printers, etc are in BT 3.0 + HS scope of application.

Bluetooth 3.0 gets its speed from the 802.11 radio protocol. The inclusion of the 802.11 Protocol Adaptation Layer (PAL) provides increased throughput of data transfers at the approximate rate of 24 Mbps.

In addition, mobile devices including Bluetooth 3.0 will realize increased power savings due to enhanced power control built in.

Here is the video comparing speed test of Bluetooth 3.0 and Bluetooth 2.1:

The main difference between Bluetooth 3.0 and Bluetooth 2.1 is that Bluetooth 3.0 (HS, 802.11) can transmit large amounts of data, and Power consumption also is naturally higher, but due to idle time, the 802.11 module will automatically shut down, so power consumption can be greatly reduced.

In future, there will be specifications proposed for lower energy consumption (perhaps to 802.11 with a more efficient integration between Bluetooth), but we will probably have to wait for that.

New smartphones and devices are now supporting the Bluetooth 3.0 and separate Dongles are also available to connect your devices to your desktop PCs.

This new specification release includes several major enhancements:
