You Can Now Save Outlook.Com Attachments To OneDrive

Back in last October, Microsoft rolled out an update to its web-based email service Outlook.com to allow users to share up to 10 GB files from OneDrive (previously known as SkyDrive). The feature allows users to send large files as attachments without having to upload large files to other file sharing services.

Up until now, it was not possible to save Outlook.com email attachments to OneDrive directly. In order to save an attachment to OneDrive, we had to download it to PC and then upload the same to OneDrive account. In fact, according to Microsoft, it was one of the most required features.

Microsoft is now rolling out a new update to Outlook.com to allow users to save email attachments to OneDrive account directly. That is, users can now save email attachments to their OneDrive account without having to use any third-party browser extensions with a click.

As you would have guessed by now, the option to Save to OneDrive appears right next to Download as zip file. And if there are multiple attachments, you can either save all attachments or individual attachments to the OneDrive. To save an individual attachment to OneDrive, click on the attachment to see Save to OneDrive option. Of course, as always, you can save attachments to your PC as well by clicking the Download option.

With default settings, when you save an attachment to OneDrive, your files will be saved under a folder called Email attachments.

Before you jump to Outlook.com, please note that the feature is being rolled out and is not available to everyone at this moment. If the Save to OneDrive isn't appearing, wait for a week.
